Stephen Hodson, CFA, CAIA
Director, Segment Lead
Stephen Hodson is an Advisor and Segment Lead for FEG’s Higher Education practice, where he partners with clients to develop and implement investment programs that support their long-term objectives. He works closely with universities, family offices, arts organizations, and other mission-driven institutions on investment strategy, governance, portfolio construction, manager selection, and ongoing portfolio oversight. Stephen brings a combination of investment expertise and a strong appreciation for the role that financial resources play in advancing organizational missions.
Prior to joining FEG, Stephen held equity research and portfolio management roles with J.P. Morgan, HSBC, and Oppenheimer Capital in New York. His experience across public markets and institutional investing provides a strong foundation for helping clients navigate complex investment decisions and long-term capital management challenges. In addition to his professional experience, Stephen’s path to finance included volunteer service in England, teaching, and leadership roles in community and youth organizations.
Stephen studied at the University of Utah before graduating from The Juilliard School and later earned a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University. He holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations and serves on the Advisory Council of Bountiful Financial, a provider of faith-based indices. A trained musician who has performed throughout North America and Europe, Stephen continues to enjoy the arts. Outside of work, he and his wife enjoy spending time with their growing family, traveling, and staying active in their community.
