Richard Grzymajlo
Director, Segment Lead
For nearly three decades, Rick Grzymajlo has advised endowments, foundations, and independent schools on investment strategy, portfolio construction, and long-term capital stewardship. His work is guided by a disciplined philosophy, rigorous research, and a commitment to helping fiduciaries navigate increasingly complex market environments with confidence and clarity.
Rick serves as a Senior Investment Advisor and Director of FEG’s Independent School Practice. In this role, he partners with governing boards, investment committees, and leadership teams to develop customized investment programs aligned with each organization’s mission, cash flow needs, risk tolerance, and long-term objectives. He believes successful investment management extends beyond standard asset allocation; it requires thoughtful governance, strategic discipline, and a clear focus on achieving sustainable outcomes.
Rick began his career in financial services after earning a business degree from Miami University and completing executive education programs at the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Early in his career, while serving as a Stock Transfer Manager overseeing IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets transactions for publicly traded companies, he gained firsthand exposure to the complexities of financial markets and corporate finance.
Throughout his career, Rick has remained deeply committed to investment research, professional development, and industry leadership. As an equity partner prior to FEG’s transition to employee ownership, he contributed to the firm’s strategic growth and culture. He is an active participant in FEG’s mentorship program and serves on the firm’s Asset & Risk Allocation Team, helping to shape the firm’s views on capital markets and portfolio management. He has also dedicated significant time to industry committees, leadership panels, and educational initiatives supporting the investment profession.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Rick remains actively engaged in his community and currently chairs the foundation of an independent school. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, traveling, both listening to music (anything Beatles related) and playing guitar, cars, and running.
