Matthew Schonland
Senior Advisory Associate
Matthew Schonland is a Senior Advisory Associate at FEG, where he supports institutional client relationships for the firm’s advisor team. In his role, he serves as a primary point of contact for clients, prepares materials for client meetings and conducts in-depth portfolio analysis. He also monitors client portfolios on an ongoing basis and delivers proactive, data-driven insights and solutions to support advisors and enhance client outcomes.
Before joining FEG, Matthew worked at Macquarie Asset Management, where he advanced from Associate to Senior Associate on the MAM Public Investments Product Management and Development team. He supported strategy distribution efforts across the U.S. and EMEA, leading responses to RFPs, RFIs, and due diligence questionnaires, and providing investment strategy analysis to support client acquisition and retention.
Earlier in his career, Matthew served as a Manager of Institutional Client Success at Morningstar, specializing in the Morningstar Direct platform. He partnered with asset managers, consultants, and other institutional investors to deliver training on advanced analytics tools, including attribution and scenario modeling, and helped clients integrate data-driven insights into their investment processes.
Matthew holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the Williams College of Business at Xavier University and a BSc in Kinesiology & Health Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin. He is actively involved in the community as a member of the Board of Trustees for First Tee of Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky and contributes internally at FEG through his involvement on the firm’s BRIDGE and Volunteering Committees. Matthew is originally from South Africa and has been fortunate to live in England; Switzerland; and various cities within the US – he was thrilled to become a US citizen in 2020. Outside of work, Matthew enjoys staying active, serving his community, and joining colleagues on the ice for FEG’s annual Hockey Classic.
