Katie Smith

Katie Smith is an experienced accounting and finance professional with more than 15 years of progressive experience across investment management, private equity support operations, hospitality, and business media industries. Since joining FEG in 2013, she has played an integral role in the firm’s accounting operations and financial reporting functions, earning a reputation for accuracy, analytical thinking, and operational excellence. 

Prior to joining FEG, Katie served as a Staff Accountant for Commonwealth Hotels, a subsidiary of Corporex Capital, where she managed accounting and financial operations for multiple hotel properties across the United States. Earlier in her career, she worked for Summit Business Media, a leading publisher and information provider serving the insurance and financial services industries, where she contributed to general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Kentucky and her MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is known for her collaborative approach, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex financial responsibilities while building strong working relationships across organizations.
