Julie Thomas

Julie Thomas is Chief Compliance Officer at FEG, where she leads the firm’s compliance program, oversees enterprise risk management activities, and helps guide strategic initiatives as a member of the leadership team. She is responsible for developing and strengthening compliance frameworks across FEG and its affiliated advisers and funds, directing compliance staff, leading training efforts, and serving as a key liaison with regulators.

Julie brings more than 20 years of compliance experience and a strong foundation in accounting, audit, and financial services. Prior to joining FEG, she held senior compliance leadership roles at Ohio National Financial Services and Ohio National Life Insurance Company, where she oversaw compliance programs for investment advisers, mutual funds, separate accounts, and affiliated entities. Earlier in her career, she worked in accounting, financial planning, internal audit, and public accounting, including roles with KPMG and other financial services organizations.

Her areas of expertise include SEC regulation, investment adviser and investment company compliance, enterprise risk management, operational due diligence, regulatory examinations, policy development, and board reporting. Julie has also served in governance roles, including as an independent director and audit chair for Total Fund Solution.

Julie is a CPA (inactive) and holds both the Investment Adviser Certified Compliance Professional designation and the Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional credential. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati. She is active in the community through board service, including with the Greater Cincinnati Mutual Fund Association and LADD.

When Julie is not further developing FEG’s compliance standards, you can expect to see her spending time with family and friends, or training for a half-marathon while jamming to tunes from the likes of Billy Joel, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Boston, Heart, or even The Beatles. Julie’s spirituality and faith also play an important role in her life.
