J. Alan Lenahan, CFA, CAIA, serves as Chief Executive Officer of FEG, where he leads the firm’s strategic direction, culture, and commitment to helping clients achieve their missions. He previously served as FEG’s Chief Investment Officer, leading the firm’s investment efforts and helping shape its investment philosophy and capabilities.
Alan joined FEG in 2002 as an alternatives research analyst, focusing on non-traditional strategies and portfolio construction. Over the course of his tenure, he helped launch FEG’s earliest discretionary pooled vehicles and led the firm’s portfolio management, client development, and OCIO solutions. Earlier in his career, Alan worked in valuation services at Arthur Andersen and in corporate finance and risk management at The Western and Southern Life Insurance Company.
Alan earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from Xavier University. He serves on FEG’s Board of Directors, is part of the FEG Leadership Team, and is involved with President’s Advisory Council at Xavier University, and the CFA Society of Cincinnati.
Outside of work, Alan enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, preferably on the golf course, but often in a gym, at a soccer field, or on a parents weekend.
