Gregory Dowling, CFA, CAIA

Head of Research, Chief Investment Officer

Greg Dowling is Chief Investment Officer and Head of Research at FEG and a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. He is responsible for leading the firm’s research platform, overseeing the day-to-day management of the research team, and chairing FEG’s Investment Committee, which is responsible for manager selection decisions and the approval of capital market assumptions. Since joining FEG in 2004, Greg has played a key role in shaping the firm’s investment research process and long-term investment strategy.

 

Prior to joining FEG, Greg served as a Financial Analyst with Firstar Bank, now U.S. Bank, where he provided analytical support for commercial lending activities. He later joined Bowling Portfolio Management as Vice President, serving on the firm’s Investment Committee, overseeing trading operations, and working closely with the Chief Investment Officer on investment research and analysis. Since 2014, Greg has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati, teaching graduate-level courses in risk management and alternative investments.

 

Greg earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University. He holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations and is a member of the CFA Society of Cincinnati. He previously chaired FEG’s Risk Management Committee and remains actively involved in advancing the firm’s investment research efforts. Outside of work, Greg enjoys traveling, spending time with his wife and three children, and playing ice hockey. He is a longtime participant in the FEG Hockey Classic, which supports the Cincinnati IceBreakers sled hockey program for individuals with physical disabilities.
