Investment Marketing Associate

Position Summary

The Investment Marketing Associate position is responsible for researching clients, developing value propositions, and crafting custom presentations to acquire new clients. This position requires the associate to coordinate team members from all levels of the organization, including consultants and sales representatives. Candidate must possess broad investment knowledge, and excellent communication, organization, and project management skills. This position will expose the right candidate to multiple facets in a fast-growing firm and has long-term career opportunities.

Position Responsibilities

  • Research prospective and existing client opportunities, utilizing web searches, database subscriptions, and internal databases.
  • Facilitate information gathering and relationship building with prospective and existing clients.
  • Develop presentation strategy based on client needs and competitive landscape.
    Lead varying teams of Consultants, Consulting Analysts, and Sales and Marketing professionals towards delivering custom and unified message.
  • Schedule and enforce practice sessions, incorporating external consultants and coaches.
  • Create (coordinate the creation of) custom materials for presentations.
  • Collect client feedback, and implement findings into future presentation strategy.
  • Ascertain presentation training needs and co-lead training programs.
  • Interact with clients as needed, and attend relevant client presentations.
  • Report and analyze metrics weekly, including sales pipeline, overall win rates, consultant win rates, industry trends, and achievement of revenue goals. Recommend corrective actions.
  • Apply presentation process to FEG presentations at FEG Investment Forums.
  • Support additional sales and marketing projects as required by the Sales & Marketing team

Core Competencies & Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in business, marketing, finance, or communications.
  • Understanding of investment strategies and landscape.
  • Project management skills. Ability to delegate.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills. Demonstrated tact, discretion, and maturity in communicating with upper management.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Computer proficiency; strong word processing and productions skills. Relevant programs include MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, and Customer Relationship Management programs (databases).
  • Superior time management skills required. Must be able to work independently under tight deadlines, multi-task, prioritize, and produce high quality work.

Investment Marketing Intern

Position Summary

The Investment Marketing Intern is responsible for providing support for a wide variety of marketing activities including client communications, industry research, competitor intelligence, client research, and ROI analyses.

Position Responsibilities

  • RFP Assistance--produce and assist with the management of Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Industry Research—provide industry research reports, detailing asset sizes and characteristics of the industry
  • Competitor Intelligence—research and assess the competitive landscape in both the institutional and the intermediary channels
  • Client Research―prepare background material and market research in support of new business opportunities.
  • ROI Analysis— assist in measuring the profitability of strategic marketing initiatives
  • Sales & Marketing Support―provide various support activities to Sales and Marketing team as needed

Core Competencies & Qualifications

  • The right candidate will possess a minimum GPA of 3.5, will be in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance and/or marketing. Preference will be given to candidates with both.
  • Broad understanding of investment strategies and industry
  • Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Publisher.

Research Analyst - Hedged Strategies

Position Summary

Research Analyst – Hedged Strategies is responsible for investment manager due diligence, client education and support, and analysis of liquid alternatives and hedge fund of funds in hedged equity and diversifying strategies categories.

Position Responsibilities

  • Source, research, and monitor investment managers – includes writing research reports on recommended managers, providing quarterly reviews on covered managers, and writing memos when managers experience significant organizational, personnel, and portfolio changes
  • Develop and maintain appropriate education and communication materials, including the quarterly market summary, monthly Research Review, quarterly Private Capital Research Review, quarterly Capital Markets Overview, and quarterly consultant packet, as well as periodically authoring a Research Review Focus Topic and quarterly research presentations.
  • Provide analytical support to entire hedged strategies team by effectively utilizing risk systems and coordinating analytic framework with risk analysis across the research team.
  • Provide support to consultants, especially with respect to recommended / covered managers and the liquid alternatives and fund of funds strategies.
  • As a member of the equity and diversifying strategies sector teams, provide input to the team and IPC with respect to the opportunity set and portfolio positioning.
  • Support portfolio management and analytical analysis on diversifying strategies and hedged equity category portfolios for intermediary channel.

Core Competencies & Qualifications

  • One (1) to three (3) years experience in the investment management industry
  • Detail-oriented, possess excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Takes initiative, strong analytical skills, and passion for investments
  • Bachelors’ degree required, work towards CFA and/or CAIA designations, and/or a MBA

Research Analyst - Real Assets

Position Summary

Research Analyst – Hedged Strategies is responsible for assisting the Director of Real Assets in conducting investment manager due diligence, client education and support, and analysis of the real assets markets (real estate, natural resources, commodities, etc.).

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Source, research, and monitor investment managers in the real assets sector – includes writing research reports on recommended managers, providing quarterly reviews on covered managers, and writing memos when managers experience significant organizational, personnel, and portfolio changes.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of education and communication materials, including the quarterly market summary, monthly Research Review, quarterly Private Capital Research Review, quarterly Capital Markets Overview, quarterly Private Opportunities Fund letters, and other presentations.
  • Provide support to consultants, especially with respect to recommended / covered managers and the real assets markets.
  • As a member of the real assets sector team, provide input to the team and IPC with respect to the various real assets categories’ valuations and portfolio positioning, and contribute to general investment discussions, including at weekly research meetings.
  • Contribute to the general investment discussions, including at weekly research meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, CFA designation and/or a MBA
  • 1 plus year's experience in the investment management industry
