Chief Compliance Officer

Position Summary

This SEC-mandated position is responsible for developing and administering compliance programs for four (4) affiliated registered investment advisers. The position also provides compliance oversight for a number of affiliated funds – three (3) registered investment companies (including one 1933 Act registered fund), and two (2) private funds. The CCO’s duties include directing, developing, implementing, and maintaining written policies and procedures governing all compliance activities for the adviser companies to comply with various Federal and State securities laws, including auditing and testing of these procedures. This position will act as the primary contact for regulatory examiners, coordinate compliance activities, monitor the activities of sub-advisers and service providers, and manage a staff of three (3) to four (4) compliance associates. In addition, this position is responsible for the supervision of several in-house registered representatives who are licensed with a third party broker-dealer to facilitate the sale of the 1933 Act fund shares.


Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure that compliance policies and procedures are comprehensive, robust, current, and reflect the firm’s business processes and conflicts of interest.
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of risk management program, including auditing and forensic testing, portfolio and security risk, compliance risk (particularly as it pertains to investment objectives and guidelines), pricing and evaluation (particularly as it pertains to private funds), and trading and operational risk. This includes advising senior management on the fundamental importance of establishing and maintaining an effective culture of compliance within the firm.
  • Responsible for providing counsel and training to sales, marketing, product development, and portfolio management staff and providing compliance leadership across the entire firm.
  • Responsible for reviewing private placement memorandums, applications, sub-documentation, manager due diligence reports, advertising, and RFPs, including FINRA marketing pieces.
  • Supervision of the firm’s Code of Ethics, Pay to Play, Insider Trading, Disaster Recovery, and Cybersecurity Programs.
  • Supervise, develop, and train compliance staff and ensure that persons within the firm with compliance responsibilities are competently and fully performing those functions.
  • Involved in analyzing and resolving significant compliance issues that arise.
  • Establish a compliance calendar that identifies all important dates by which regulatory compliance matters must be completed to ensure that these deadlines are not missed.
  • Report results of annual review to senior management and Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, advance degree strongly preferred.
  • At least 8 plus years of compliance experience with registered investment advisers and mutual funds.
  • Substantial understanding of the compliance requirements under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940.
  • Working knowledge of FINRA rules.
  • Hedge fund and private fund experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years working experience presenting to Board of Directors.

Client Development Associate

Position Summary

The Client Development Associate is responsible for creating and developing relationships with non-profit institutions including foundations, endowments, religious organizations, and retirement plans. The core segment of our business, this position helps broaden and expand our work with local and national non-profit organizations. Responsibilities include providing support and working as a member of the client development team along with consultants, identifying new prospecting opportunities, building relationships, marketing development, and maintaining and expanding prospect and contact databases.


Position Responsibilities

As a member of the FEG client development team, collaborate on direct and indirect projects along with assisting consultants in their prospecting needs. Specific responsibilities include the following:


  • Secure request for proposals (RFPs) and help prospects become clients.
  • Source prospective clients directly, including:
    • Prospect profiling and identification, including use of databases and internet tools
    • Schedule and attend appointments
    • Database and internet RFP research
    • Campaigns, mailings, and E-distribution
  • Assist consultants in efforts to source prospective clients.
  • Represent company at industry events, conferences, and sales meetings.
    • Coordinate speaking proposals with FEG marketing, consultants, and client development.
    • Provide support for industry conferences, including marketing materials and logistics. Attend certain conference events.
  • Some travel required.
  • Maintain and update business development activity in CRM contact database, including adding new prospects, segmenting, and documenting activities.

Client Service Co-Op (Fall and Winter Semesters)

Position Summary

The Client Service Intern is responsible for managing the performance reporting needs for a group of consultant teams. The position requires the ability to identify problems and resolve them accurately and timely, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with investment managers and custodians. The responsibilities include monthly history completion and project work with the consultant teams. The position reports to the Vice President of Client Service.

Consultant Relations Manager

Position Summary

The Consultant Relations Manager position is responsible for coaching key employees with regard to messaging of content and presentations to potential and existing clients. This position leads team members from all levels of the organization on both presentations and client industry subject matter. Position Summary

Software Developer / Analyst will work in our Information Technology Department assisting in the delivery of software solution to meet our end users’ data needs. The Analyst will work with the other IT Staff to design and build out systems based on Microsoft’s Back Office Stack. This will include development in Microsoft SQL, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, Dynamics GP, and other custom .NET and Web based applications.

We're looking for a qualified individual to join our team in providing software development services and support for ongoing internal projects and initiatives. Qualified applicants should possess working knowledge of the .net frameworks and languages and as well have some experience with web browser client side technologies (e.g. JavaScript/JQuery).

Position Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this position will be in the support and development of business systems to enhance data visibility within the firm. The individual will work with key stake holders and assist in documenting any requests identified. The person will also assist in helping end users resolve general technical problems. This position will work closely within the IT Department to help support all of our internal initiatives.

  • Develop, implement, and troubleshoot software solutions to ensure accurate information.

Private Equity Internship - Spring Semester

Position Summary

FEG is seeking an intern for its private equity research team. The position will support the private equity team in screening and analyzing various private equity funds, analyzing industry data for trends and opportunities, and updating FEG research publications. Strong analytical and communications skills are critical. The position will report to the Director of Private Equity.

Position Responsibilities

  • Work with the private equity team to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis on private equity funds and/or fund of funds.
    • Support the fund-level performance analysis, including performance attribution
    • Monitor recommended funds through financial statement review and performance comparisons.
  • Conduct industry and/or sector research.
  • Assist with other financial modeling.
  • Update research presentations and publications in various forms, including manager research reports, educational presentations, and position pieces for the broader research team, consultants, and clients.

Qualifications

  • Education:  Junior or Senior year of college with a Major in Finance or related field.
  • Required Skills:  Detail-oriented; possess excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently.
