Administrator

Office Services Department

Position Summary

Administrator is responsible for managing the administrative needs for a group of consultant teams and other dedicated departments.  The position requires the ability to communicate effectively with consultants and analysts as well as the ability to prioritize tasks.

Position Responsibilities
  • Preparation of accurate and timely client (internal and external) deliverables (creation, printing and delivering)
  • Communicate effectively with consultant teams
  • Assist with Reception desk responsibilities
  • Assist consultant teams with projects
  • Basic knowledge of all FEG’s departments and how they work individually and together

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years’ experience
  • Experience with Microsoft 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

Vice President / Business Development

 

Position Summary

The Vice President, Business Development is responsible for generating new sales opportunities with intermediary financial service firms including insurance companies, banks, broker dealers, investment advisory firms, multi-family offices, and other such networks.  The FEG offering to intermediary financial service firms includes the FEG Research Services suite of research and implementation solutions.

FEG Investment Advisors

FEG Investment Advisors (FEG) is a recognized leader in the field of institutional investment consulting.  FEG was founded in 1988 to provide independent investment advice to institutional investors. Today, the firm advises on approximately $61 billion in client assets.  The firm is 100% employee owned and is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio.

FEG markets through two distribution channels:
  • Institutions – Endowments, public and private foundations, pension plans, healthcare institutions and nonprofit entities. 
  • Financial Intermediaries – Banks, broker dealers, insurance companies, independent RIAs and family offices.

FEG Research Services include research deliverables such as capital markets analysis, asset allocation modeling, manager research/recommended lists across traditional, hedge, and private capital structures, white papers, educational and other investment related publications.  Implementation services include FEG Managed Portfolios (liquid), FEG Absolute Access Fund (hedge fund of funds), FEG Private Opportunities Funds (private capital fund of funds), and direct hedge and private capital fund access through FEG’s relationship with GLAS Funds, LLC.  Target markets are insurance companies, banks and broker dealers.


Position Responsibilities
  • Generate sales of FEG Research Services through insurance companies, banks, broker dealers, investment advisory firms, multi-family offices, and other such networks.
  • Bring an extensive professional network of industry contacts to make an immediate impact on sales.
  • Ability to proactively leverage FEG’s industry network to create referral opportunities and raise awareness of FEG Research Services.
  • Develop sales plan detailing strategy to identify, develop, and close top sales opportunities.
  • Optimize time and territory management through a strong goal orientation, attention to detail and outstanding work ethic.
  • Maintain and update business development activity in company CRM system.
  • Identify and measure key sales metrics in CRM system.
  • Represent company at targeted industry forums and professional associations.
  • Travel required

Qualifications

Proven record of sales related accomplishments, including over five years of successful intermediary investment sales experience with sophisticated clientele:

  • Candidate has current network of contacts in the regional/community private bank, independent/insurance broker/dealer, larger RIA/Multi-Family Office, and/or similar network structure markets.
  • Demonstrated sales and prospecting skills.
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.  Superior telephone skills.
  • Strong knowledge of investment research, portfolio strategies, alternative investments, market trends and competitive landscape.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.  Ability to document and communicate results.
  • Highest level of integrity, trustworthiness, and ethical standards.
  • Highly motivated team player seeking opportunity in a growth-oriented environment.
  • Undergraduate degree required.

Performance Analyst Internship

Client Service Department

Position Summary

The Performance Analyst Intern is responsible for managing the performance reporting needs for a group of consultant teams. The position requires the ability to identify problems and resolve them accurately and timely, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with investment managers and custodians.  The responsibilities include monthly history completion and project work with the consultant teams.

  • Identify source of problems and resolve accurately and timely
  • Communicate effectively with investment managers and custodians on issues
  • Database upkeep with investment manager/custodian contact changes
  • Notify consultant teams of investment manager changes

Portfolio Management Internship

Portfolio Management Department

Position Summary

The intern will gain insight to multi-asset portfolio management along with exposure to a broad range of asset classes including:  global equity, global fixed income, real assets, and diversifying strategies such as hedge funds and private equity.  This experience will originate from dedicated and ad-hoc research performed by the intern with the oversight of VP, Portfolio Management. The position will involve broad interaction within Fund Evaluation Group.

 
Position Responsiblities 
  • Ad-hoc research supporting the portfolio management team
  • Produce and update ongoing portfolio management reporting
  • Attend weekly investment advisory meetings and support the management of the meeting
  • Participate in investment manager meetings in conjunction with members of the portfolio management team and contribute to the analysis of managers
  • Dedicated project work for the duration of the internship supporting portfolio management needs.  Projects have and may involve asset allocation studies, custom performance analysis, etc.
  • Develop various portfolio reporting tools including exposure and risk reporting as well as performance attribution
  • Assist hedge fund operations with calculating various fund details (e.g., performance) and reconciling various fund details with fund administrator(s)

  • The right candidate will possess a strong academic profile and GPA and will be in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance or a related field and interest in an investment career

Capital Markets / Real Asset Research Internship

Research Department

Position Summary

The intern will gain exposure to a myriad of assets classes including:  global equity, global fixed income, real assets, Natural Resource Equities, energy-related Master Limited Partnerships, Commodities, Private Equity Real Estate, Private Energy Partnerships, Agriculture and Farmland, Infrastructure, and Timber and diversifying strategies such as hedge funds.  This experience will derive from dedicated and ad-hoc research performed by the intern with the oversight of SVP, Capital Markets. 

 
Position Responsiblities 
  • Ad-hoc research supporting the asset and risk allocation team
  • Dedicated project work for the duration of the internship supporting Research’s needs. Projects have and may involve asset allocation and liquidity studies, custom performance analysis, etc.
  • Attend weekly research meetings and support the management of the meeting
  • Attend and aid in coordination of asset and risk allocation meetings and asset class team meetings
  • Produce ongoing research reporting
  • Attend investment manager meetings in conjunction with members of the Real Assets team and write summary notes an analysis of meetings
  • Author Real Assets portion of the Capital Markets Overview and Quarterly Market Summary
  • Assist in management of information in the FEG’s internal manager database Assist in authoring of monthly Real Assets Research Review

Diversifying Strategies / Fixed Income Internship

Research Department

Position Summary

The intern will gain exposure to the depth of the fixed income asset class including: Publicly-traded fixed income markets (Treasuries, mortgages, corporate bonds, bank loans, etc.), credit hedge funds, and private debt strategies (private lending, mezzanine debt, distressed, etc.).  In addition, broad exposure to hedge funds, including Global Macro, Relative Value, and Event-Driven, will be attained through the intern’s work within diversifying strategies. The candidate will be involved in exposure analysis, manager research, and ad hoc projects, as needed.

Position Responsiblities 
  • Attend investment manager meetings in conjunction with members of the Fixed Income/Diversifying Strategies team and write summary notes and analysis of meetings
  • Assist in authoring portion of Capital Markets Overview and Quarterly Market Summary
  • Assist Senior Research Analyst with creation of weekly presentations using fixed income and economic data
  • Update educational research presentations
  • Assist in management of information in FEG’s internal manager database
  • Assist in authoring of monthly Fixed Income/Diversifying Strategies Research Review

Research Department

Position Summary

Strong analytical and written communication skills, as well as a sense of intellectual curiosity, are critical.  The intern will gain exposure to a breadth of the equity markets including: U.S. equities, developed market equities, emerging market equities, publicly-traded real estate securities (REITs), Natural Resource Equities, energy-related Master Limited Partnerships, Commodities, Private Equity Real Estate, Private Energy Partnerships, Agriculture and Farmland, Infrastructure, and Timber.  The position will also involve interaction with the broader research team at Fund Evaluation Group.

Position Responsiblities 
  • Support the analysis of equity investment managers and strategies as well as the global equity markets
  • Work with the private equity team to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis on private equity funds and/or fund of funds.
    • Support the fund-level performance analysis including performance attribution
    • Monitor recommended funds through financial statement review and performance comparisons.
  • Attend investment manager meetings in conjunction with members of the Global Equity team and write summary notes and analysis of meetings
  • Author Global Equity and Private Equity portion of the Capital Markets Insights and Quarterly Market Summary
  • Update educational research presentations
  • Assist in management of information in the FEG’s internal manager database
  • Assist in authoring of monthly Global and Private Equity Research Review
