Stephen Hopkins
Member of FEG's Board of Directors
Stephen Hopkins serves on FEG’s Board of Directors and brings more than three decades of leadership experience in investment management, asset servicing, and financial operations. Throughout his career, he has held senior executive roles at some of the industry’s most prominent organizations, providing strategic oversight across investment, operational, and governance functions.
Stephen is currently a Partner and Executive Chairman of Ballentine Partners and Vice Chairman of Roundtable Investment Partners. Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Co-Head of the Investment Team at Roundtable Investment Partners. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions including Senior Vice President at Legg Mason, Co-Head, President, and Chief Operating Officer of Citigroup Asset Management, Chief Operating Officer for Asset Management Services at JP Morgan Investment Management, and Chief Financial Officer of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co., where he served as a Senior Manager in Capital Markets.
Stephen attended the University of Rhode Island. In addition to serving on FEG’s Board of Directors, he is an Independent Director and member of the Investment Committee for the National Philanthropic Trust and serves as Trustee of Trust Funds and Vice Chairman of the Conservation Commission for the Town of Gilmanton. His previous board and advisory roles include service on Citigroup Inc.’s Management Committee, as an Independent Director of SRL Global and Netik LLC, and as an Advisor to the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
