Stephen Hopkins
Member of FEG's Board of Directors
Stephen Hopkins serves on FEG’s Board of Directors and brings more than four decades of leadership experience in investment management, wealth management, asset servicing, and financial operations. Throughout his career, he has held senior executive roles at some of the industry’s most prominent organizations.
Stephen is currently a Partner and Executive Chairman of Ballentine Partners. Previously he was Vice Chairman of Roundtable Investment Partners where during his time with the firm he also served as Chief Operating Officer and Co-Head of the Investment Team. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions including Senior Vice President at Legg Mason, Co-Head, President, and Chief Operating Officer of Citigroup Asset Management, Chief Operating Officer for Asset Management Services at JP Morgan Investment Management, and Chief Financial Officer of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co., where he served as a Senior Manager in their Capital Markets practice.
Stephen attended the University of Rhode Island. In addition to serving on FEG’s Board of Directors, he is an Independent Trustee of the National Philanthropic Trust, Chairman of the Conservation Commission for the Town of Gilmanton and Chairman of the Board of Ballentine Partners. His previous board and advisory roles include service on Citigroup Inc.’s Management Committee, Trustee of Trust Funds for the Town of Gilmanton and as an Independent Director of SRL Global and Netik LLC.
