The Cincinnati Business Courier begins the voting process with a public call for nominations and the completion of a questionnaire. The nominations were open from September 29, 2023 through May 22, 2024, with the winners being announced on July 23, 2024. The nominees need to be under the age of 40 and work in the Greater Cincinnati area. 442 individuals were nominated, and 40 individuals were named the Forty Under 40 class of 2024. Judging of the questionnaire is based on a 30-point scale, with points allocated in four main sections:1) Reason for nomination (5 points); 2) Career achievements (10 points); 3) Community involvement (10 points); and 5) Awards and recognition (5 points). The judges then vet each nominees’ achievements based on how strongly they believe the nominees meet the range of criteria for the respective categories as a young leader and professional who is making a difference in business and the community. No fee was paid to participate, and no compensation was provided directly or indirectly.
